At Woodend Early Learning & Kinder we believe that the role of an educator is to provide an environment that cater for the individual needs of the children and the families. As educators, we follow the Victorian Early Years Learning Framework and work with the Code of Ethics.

Educators continue to further develop their skills and knowledge through self-reflection, readings and research, and professional development.

Through observations, developmental knowledge, cultural awareness and a friendly and open approach to our daily interactions, we provide an environment that is open, warm, safe and caring for the children and their families.

We ensure that we treat all children and family members equally and with respect, regardless of race, gender, socio-economic status, ability or religion. We take pride in our inclusive nature and we foster a sense of belonging to this community.

Glenda Topp

Hi, my name is Glenda Topp. I have been the Centre Director at Woodend Early Learning & Kinder since May 2016. I have a Diploma of Children’s Services and I have extensive experience working across all age groups and within the many facets of the early learning sector. The most enjoyable part of my job is to meet and interact with families and children from a wide range of cultures and backgrounds. My goal as Centre Director is to create a warm, caring and safe centre environment where children can grow and reach their full potential. I believe that learning takes place in a social setting where exploration, experimentation, construction and play are core learning methods hence we provide the play based learning for all the different age groups.
Come in and say hello! I’d love to show you and your family what we can offer your child.

Stephanie Penning

Hello, I’m Stephanie – better known as Steph.
I began working at Woodend ELC back in 2010 but went to live in the States for two years. As an educator, I believe the first five years are crucial for setting the foundation to build a lifelong love of learning. Outside of Woodend ELC, I enjoy traveling, playing and watching sport (GO BOMBERS!). I have a passion for community involvement (bush walks, school & retirement visits etc.) and try to integrate this as much as I can into our program. I look forward to supporting your child through their learning journey here at Woodend ELC.
